Dentistry
19/12/2006
As a result of hearing from several dentists recently,
we will be looking at the reality of dentistry in England
at the beginning of January. If you would like to contribute
to this investigation, then please contact us with your
experiences of care, of trying to deliver dental services
under the new contract and what your presciption would be
for the future. Please state whether you want to remain
anonymous.
Comments so far have included:
"the sorry state of NHS dentistry"
"On the new contract: " the new system results
in more complex procedures being carried out (they carry
more UDAs) and simpler, more time consuming items getting
less attention."
"since the institution of the new contract on the 1st
April 2006, things have gone quiet with fewer patients seeking
treatment" ...."The future of dentistry in the
NHS will be cash limited procedures such as root canals,
multiple fillings, crowns and dentures will be reduced."
