2020health

2020health.org is a new grass- roots, on-line think tank for Health and Social Care.

We recognise that people who provide and who receive health and social services have real insight and understanding. This working knowledge is crucial to the future development of Policy..

We want to restore the voice and influence of the experienced individual who knows what works and what is best for patients and service users alike.

2020health.org gives health and social care professionals the chance to be heard, communicating directly with policy makers.

Your voice is heard when you:

  • Log on and comment on our existing proposals
  • Present ideas to our discussion forums
  • Register with us and join our network
  • Responding to consultations and opinion polls
  • Becoming a partner and participate in events and seminars

We will build on their contributions to collectively form a respected source of insight and ideas - resulting in concrete solutions for those whose responsibility it is to form policy.

The Vision of 2020health.org is to formulate Health and Social Care Policy that reflects the grass-roots wisdom and experience of professionals, and promotes human dignity and equity in the provision of care.

How are we different?

We are the only centre-right, web-based, think tank purely for health and social care. We are ‘professional’ led, ensuring all we do has the constant input of people working in the public services

Our unique emphasis is on giving people who work everyday in health and social care – the grass-roots - the opportunity to use their experience and expertise to direct our work.

We recognise that bioethics and technology are inseparable from the future of healthcare and we will consider new technology and discoveries alongside service delivery.

We are giving people, particularly health and social care professionals and including those in academia and industry, the chance to initiate policy ideas, not just comment on imposed plans.

We will build on these policy ideas, harnessing the experience of our network to develop them into solutions.

We will report back on our findings on the website for all to see. We also pledge that there will be feedback by the relevant policy team member.

How do people contribute?

Initially by going to the website and e-mailing us, either with their registration details, or a new idea, or commenting on other’s ideas.

As people register, they can be included in relevant discussions and research according to the areas of work and interest indicated on the registration form.

Partnership is available with different categories according to choice, and offering further levels of involvement.
